Biofortis’ scientist experts were attending the 5th World Congress on Targeting Microbiota organised by the International Society of Microbiota.
During this two-day conference in Berlin, a lot of oral and poster communications were presented covering many hot topics:
-
Microbiota 2017: Recent advances & Perspectives
-
Challenges of microbiota sequencing and analyzing: How to interpret the results?
-
Challenges of microbiota-host cross-talk understanding and intestinal microbiome signaling to extraintestinal organs
-
Microbiota & medicine of tomorrow: Development of effective therapeutic strategies to manipulate the gut microbiota
With 300 participants and close to 60 posters presented, this event was quite a success! In order to highlight Microbiota 2017 recent advances & perspectives, it was relevant to interview Hervé Blottière (Research Director, Micalis Institut, INRA).

Hervé Blottière held an oral presentation on the following subject: “Human gut microbiota: from structures to functions”. In the past decades, he focused on studying colon physiology and gut microbiota rule for Human health. He developed a functional metagenomic approach to study the cross-talk between microbiota and its host.
